VCDL REPRINT

Virginia Citizens Defense League

Defending Your Right to Defend Yourself

Great News!  The gun-control bills in Virginia’s General Assembly have ALL been defeated today!

National and Virginia-based gun-control groups took it on the chin today as all of the gun-control bills on Governor Youngkin's desk are now dead. The General Assembly failed to override any of the Governor's vetoes!

Thank you, again, Governor Youngkin for standing up for Virginians and protecting our right to keep and bear arms! Thank you to the Virginia Republican legislators who supported gun owners! And to Virginia's Democrat legislators who supported those gun-control bills, shame on all of you.

VCDL thanks the following Republican legislatorsfor introducing gun bills on its behalf

  • Senator Danny Diggs

  • Senator Glen Sturtevant

  • Delegate Jason Ballard

  • Delegate Nick Freitas

  • Delegate Tim Griffin

  • Delegate Delores Oates

  • Delegate Chris Obenshain

  • Delegate Wren Williams

  • Delegate Erik Zehr

The VCDL 2025 Legislative Voting Record will be available shortly so you can see how your Delegate and Senator voted on gun bills.

A tale of two Republicans

Governor Youngkin didn’t say a lot about the right to keep and bear arms when he was a candidate.  But when he was elected and the rubber met the road, he has come through for gun owners all the way.

Attorney General Miyares talked-the-talk about the right to keep and bear arms as a candidate.  But he hasn’t walked-the-walk on gun laws in Virginia since being elected.  Miyares is supporting the same unconstitutional gun-control laws here in Virginia that Herring would have supported had Herring won the election – the One Handgun a Month rationing scheme, Universal Background Checks gun-registration scheme, and gun bans in non-sensitive government buildings (rest stops and ABC stores).

Elections THIS November are criticalunless you want to be back in 2020!

Regardless of who is President, when you look at what Virginia Democrat legislators tried to pass this year, including gun bans, magazine bans, restrictions on carrying outside of Virginia, gun registration schemes, misdemeanors stripping away gun rights, and much more, those bills could all become law if the Democrat gun-grabbers keep control of the House of Delegates and get control of the Governor and Lt. Governor offices!

Gun owners, as well as their likeminded family, friends, co-workers, and acquaintances had best vote in November.  Stay engaged or pay the price.

Watch for the VCDL-PAC alerts once the PAC gets moving later this year.  If you wish to help make sure the VCDL-PAC has enough money to help get gun rights supporters elected, you can contribute by clicking here.

The future depends on you and me and we had best not fumble the ball!
